Peace Corps ResponseThe Peace Corps has posted 5 education positions online (2 placements for the Math posting) for the Peace Corps Response program. If you click on this link, you will be redirected to the Peace Corps Response page on the Peace Corps site. I spoke to Jim Bach, programming specialist in the PC Response office, about the positions. For these placements you must be a returned PCV. While the program is being expanded to include more people, at this time the placements in Sierra Leone require previous Peace Corps experience. If you are interested in applying for one of these placements, you need to create your profile on the Peace Corps web site. Once you apply for the specific position ini Sierra Leone, it will take approximately 2 months from application to placement. These positions will be for 11 months beginning in September and ending in July of the following year. These are for teacher trainers at the university level in math, physics, chemistry and English. Information is available on the Peace Corps site or you may contact the Peace Corps Response staff if you have questions. If I understand correctly, while you must have been a Peace Corps Volunteer to qualify for the positions in Sierra Leone, you do not have to have been a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone. If you are interested, begin your application process soon as delays can happen. |
